32nd Anniversary of OHADA: ERSUMA Opens Its Doors to the Public and Celebrates Its Graduates

On 17 October 2025, the Organisation for the Harmonisation of Business Law in Africa (OHADA) celebrates the 32nd anniversary of the signing of its founding Treaty in Port Louis, Mauritius. To mark this milestone, the Regional Advanced School of Magistracy (ERSUMA) — OHADA's Regional Training, Capacity-Building and Research Institute — hosts an Open Day at its headquarters in Porto-Novo, Benin, to showcase the wide range of services it offers to the public.

32nd anniversary of OHADA: Open day and graduation ceremony for ERSUMA diploma programmes, Porto-Novo, 17 October 2025

On the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of the Organisation for the Harmonisation of Business Law in Africa (OHADA), the Regional Advanced School of Magistracy (ERSUMA) is organising, on Friday 17 October 2025, an Open Day coupled with the Graduation Ceremony for the first cohort of trainees who successfully completed the following diploma programmes: Specialised Diploma in Corporate Governance (DSGE), Specialised Diploma in OHADA Procedures (DSPO) and OHADA Arbitration Certificate (CAO).

Commencement of the academic year for the second batch of OHADA Specialisation Diplomas and Certificates 2025-2026

As part of its statutory training and capacity building missions, the Regional Advanced School of Magistracy (ERSUMA) of the Organization for the Harmonization of Business Law in Africa (OHADA) announces the official launch of the academic year 2025-2026 for the second batch of its certification and diploma programmes in OHADA law. This solemn re-opening will be held on Monday 15 September 2025 at 6:00 p.m. GMT, at ERSUMA Headquarters in Porto-Novo, with simultaneous participation via videoconference.

Official launch and commencement of activities for the project to enhance the arbitration and mediation framework in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)

The official launch ceremony took place on 14 July 2025 at the Pullman Hotel in Kinshasa, in the presence of high-level stakeholders. The event featured addresses by Ms. Losamba KITETE, representing the Coordinator of the Business Climate Unit (CCA) of the Presidency of the Republic; Ms. Mallory LUNTADI, on behalf of the Coordinator of the TRANSFORME Project; Professor Roger MASSAMBA, President of the OHADA National Commission of the DRC; and Dr. Karel Osiris Coffi DOGUE, Director General of ERSUMA. The keynote address was delivered by Maître Eddy BANTOU, representing the Minister of State, Minister of Justice and Keeper of the Seals of the DRC.

28th Ordinary session of ERSUMA

The 28th ordinary session of the Board of Directors of the Regional Advanced School of Magistracy (ERSUMA) of the Organisation for the Harmonisation of Business Law in Africa (OHADA) took place on Thursday, 19 June 2025, in Bujumbura (Burundi) in person and via videoconference. The session was chaired by Professor Mayatta Ndiaye MBAYE, Permanent Secretary of OHADA and President of the Board.
