The Organisation for the Harmonisation of Business Law in Africa (OHADA) is pleased to announce that maintenance and updating work on its digital library is now completed.
On 10 April 2025, a strategic meeting was held in Abidjan between OHADA and the Financial Markets Authority of the West African Monetary Union (AMF-UMOA). The two delegations, led respectively by Prof. Mayatta Ndiaye MBAYE, Permanent Secretary of OHADA, and Mr Badanam PATOKI, Chairman of AMF-UMOA, discussed three major topics pertaining to reporting challenges.
OHADA is celebrating its 31st anniversary this Thursday 17 October 2024. In addition to the major conference and documentary exhibition organized on this occasion at its headquarters in Yaoundé, we want to take this opportunity to congratulate ourselves on the decisive results achieved over these three decades, thanks to the constant support of our Member States and of our Technical and Financial Partners.
To commemorate this day, the Permanent Secretariat is organising a documentary exhibition at its headquarters in Yaoundé (Cameroon), as well as a conference on “The autonomy of OHADA law in relation to national laws”. The conference will also be accessible online via the ERSUMA digital platform.
At the invitation of the Alliance francophone des registres du commerce (AFREC) (French-speaking commercial registers association), the OHADA Permanent Secretary took part in the 2nd AFREC Forum on the theme ”French language, cooperation between registers: the potential of the French-speaking world“.
The 3rd edition of the African Arbitration and Mediation Days (JAAM) opened on Thursday 25 July 2024 at the Radisson BLU hotel in Libreville (Gabon) on the theme: “Contemporary Issues in Arbitration and Mediation in Africa”.
On Monday 15 July 2024, OHADA's Permanent Secretariat welcomed a delegation from the OHADA Club of the University of Douala, made up of PhD and other law students, as well as trainee lawyers, notary clerks and accountants.
After visiting the Common Court of Justice and Arbitration (CCJA) and the Regional Advanced School of Magistracy (ERSUMA), H.E. Mr Ousmane DIAGNE, President-in-office of the OHADA Council of Ministers, completed his tour of the Organization's operational institutions with a visit to the Permanent Secretariat in Yaoundé (Cameroon) on 11 July 2024.
Prof. Mayatta Ndiaye MBAYE, OHADA Permanent Secretary, undertook a diplomatic mission to Madagascar from 21 to 27 March 2024, with the support of UNIDA and ACP Legal Océan Indien, represented locally by Rindra HARIZO, Vice-President of ACP Legal Océan Indien.
Le séminaire de formation en droit OHADA, initialement prévu pour se tenir en présentiel et en visioconférence du 08 au 09 mars 2024 à partir de 09 heures dans la salle de conférence de la chambre de commerce et d'industrie du Niger sise à Niamey en face de la Direction Régionale de la Police Nationale est reporté pour les 22 et 23 mars 2024 sous le même format, au lieu ci-dessus indiqué et avec les mêmes formateurs et intervenants. Comme précédemment indiqué, ce séminaire portera sur trois axes principalement à savoir la pratique de la saisie immobilière, le contentieux des voies d'exécution et les modes alternatifs de règlement des litiges (arbitrage et médiation).
