It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Judge Kéba MBAYE on Thursday, January 11, 2007, in Dakar. He had served as Vice President of the International Court of Justice in The Hague, he was the instigator and inspiration of the OHADA reforms, and he was President of UNIDA and of your website, www.ohada.com. President Kéba MBAYE was a giant on the world stage, and he profoundly marked both Africa and the law. He worked tirelessly for the unity of the African continent, for the rule of law, for human rights, and for the full flowering of the Olympic spirit. To honor Judge MBAYE's memory, we must now redouble our efforts to achieve his goals of unity, prosperity and peace through the full harmonization of business laws, and the establishment of the rule of law, all under OHADA.
