Today May 5, 2014, comes into force in the unified Business law OHADA zone, the revised OHADA Uniform Act relating to Commercial Companies and GIE. This OHADA Uniform Act is the result of considerable work of modernisation and adaptation of corporate law to the States parties' economies, pledged by the OHADA Permanent Secretariat and all OHADA States parties, with the support of all donors, particularly the World Bank Group and the “Investment Climate Facility”.
Adopted unanimously by the last OHADA Council of Ministers held in Ouagadougou on January 30, 2014, this revised OHADA Uniform Act is a very important step as it establishes a modern legal framework, perfectly suited to the social life of all OHADA business enterprises. This is a progress for all OHADA countries, particularly for the DR-Congo, as the revised OHADA Uniform Act substitutes the Decree of the sovereign King of 27 February 1887 on commercial companies, dating back to Leopold II.
In this regard, we are pleased to inform you that to facilitate the perfect appropriation of this revised OHADA Uniform Act, modern and adapted for the DR-Congo, the UNIDA association and its website www.ohada.com with the financial assistance from AIDCOM program of the European Union, proceeds with the acquisition of 2690 OHADA books for the benefit of the RDC's OHADA National Commission and three OHADA Master's programs at Kinshasa Universities.
In addition, 500 green codes OHADA Juriscope, of the 2014 edition, taking into account the revised OHADA Uniform Act and 500 books published in Senegal by Mr. Azize DIEYE specifically devoted to the revised OHADA Uniform Act are additional textbooks that will be donated by UNIDA / www.ohada.com to the DR-Congo's OHADA National Commission.
UNIDA / www.ohada.com hopes that the donation of these books contribute to the success of the OHADA revised Uniform Act in the DR-Congo. It calls for the mobilisation of all the Congolese legal professionals, driven by the welfare and the economic future of their great country with great potential, to bring the Congolese companies to quickly and serenely to harmonise their previous statutes with the revised OHADA Uniform Act.
