38th Session of the Council of Ministers of OHADA, Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, 12 and 13 March 2015: Final Communique
The Council of Ministers of the Organization for the Harmonization of Business Law in Africa (OHADA) met in an extraordinary session in Abidjan (Côte d'Ivoire), on the 12th and 13th March 2015. As a legislative body and a deliberative organ, the Council of Ministers which brings together the Ministers of Justice and the Ministers of Finance of the seventeen Member States of OHADA, met under the chairmanship of His Excellency Daniel KABLAN DUNCAN, Prime Minister and Head of Government of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire.
As usual, the Technical and Financial Partners of the Organization delivered their message. Representatives of the French Republic and the World Bank reaffirmed their support for the actions of OHADA.
During the meeting, the Council of Ministers adopted the 2015 budget of the Organization, appointed a new Auditor and deliberated on issues related to the staff of OHADA. Thus, the Ministers replaced a Judge whose term of office had expired, and elected 4 (four) new Judges of the Common Court of Justice and Arbitration (CCJA) which is the Supreme Regional Court in charge of the interpretation and application of OHADA law. This strengthening of human resources at the CCJA seeks to enhance its performance, step up its operational capacity and increase the legal security in the integrated legal space as instructed by Heads of State and Government.
The Council of Ministers issued a vote of thanks to His Excellency Dr. Alassane OUATTARA, President of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire and Chairman of the Conference of Heads of State and Government of the Organization for his commitment and his continued support to OHADA.
