The King Fahd Hotel in Dakar, capital City of the Republic of Senegal, is hosting from November 28 to 30, 2016, a workshop to disseminate the innovative legal provisions of the OHADA Uniform Acts related to banking practice.
Organized by the Permanent Secretariat of OHADA in collaboration with the Professional Association of Banks and Financial Institutions (APBEF), and financed by the World Bank Group, this three-day meeting brings together General Managers and Legal Affairs officials of banking establishments of WAEMU and the Republic of Guinea as well as Presidents and Chief Registrars of Commercial Courts of the capital of Member States concerned. The exchange aims at highlighting, in the light of banking practice, the innovative legal tools in the Uniform Act on the Organization of Securities and the Uniform Act on the Organization of Simplified Recovery Procedures and Measures of Execution with a view to improving access to credit, in particular for SMEs.
The Workshop will also be attended by three members of the Doing Business team of the World Bank Group. The methodology and some indicators of Doing Business will thus be reviewed during the exchanges.
The Dakar Workshop will be followed by another one organized in favor of countries of Central Africa and the Union of Comoros.
The Permanent Secretary of OHADA wishes to thank the World Bank Group, whose decisive financial support enabled the organization of these meetings. It hopes that these meetings will contribute to improving access to credit, improving the professional practice of the various actors concerned and instilling new dynamics in the financing of enterprises in the OHADA area.
Registration is free, without cost and shall be done at the seminar venue in Dakar.
