From 24 to 27 July 2017, OHADA National Commissions (ONCs) held a plenary meeting in Abidjan, Republic of Côte d'Ivoire, to discuss three important preliminary draft texts: the preliminary draft of the revised Uniform Act on arbitration law, the preliminary draft of the revised Rules of Arbitration of the Common Court of Justice and Arbitration (CCJA) and the preliminary draft of the Uniform Act on mediation.
In addition to delegations from the seventeen (17) Member States, the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), the Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa (CEMAC) and the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA) took part at the session. Before the meeting, and in accordance with the OHADA legislative procedure, the various OHADA Member States received the draft texts and made their comments. The four days session is therefore specifically aimed at optimizing exchanges on these comments with a view to achieve a consensus on the draft instruments. The texts consolidated at the end of this work will be transmitted to the CCJA for an opinion and then, placed on the agenda of the next session of the Council of Ministers for adoption.
The Permanent Secretary thanks the authorities of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire for the facilities put in place for the organization of this meeting and the World Bank Group for financing.
The Permanent Secretary,
Prof. Dorothé C. SOSSA

Bonjour,
Merci
