Bissau, 3rd - 10th October 2017
Since Tuesday 3rd of October 2017, Bissau, the capital of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau, has been hosting the operations for the deployment of software for the integrated management of local registers and national card index of the Trade and Securities Register (RCCM-OHADA). These operations were launched by the official handover of the software solution and a batch of computer hardware to the Government of Guinea Bissau.
On this occasion, Dr Boubacar Sidiki DIARRAH, Director of Legal Affairs of OHADA, on behalf of Prof. Dorothé C. SOSSA, Permanent Secretary of the Organization, thanked the authorities of Guinea Bissau for the warm welcome. He briefly recalled the genesis of the RCCM computerization project and presented the developed software solution which he solemnly handed over, together with a batch of computer tools to Dr. Degol MENDES, Director General of the Justice Administration, to the attention of H.E Dr. Rui SANHA, Minister of Justice of the Republic of Guinea Bissau. The hardware is intended for the equipment of four RCCMs and the national card index.
On behalf of the Minister of Justice, the Director General of the Justice Administration of Guinea Bissau thanked the Permanent Secretary of OHADA for his invaluable support, which will provide reliable information and accessible data on the creation and life of enterprises in Guinea Bissau.
The official handover of the software solution and computer hardware was immediately followed by the launch of a training workshop. For one week, the users and administrators of the system will familiarize themselves with the tool, for an effective start of the RCCM computerization process in the country.
The delivery of computer hardware and deployment of the computerized RCCM-OHADA in Guinea Bissau follow on from the operations already implemented in Mali and Burkina Faso. They will continue in the next few days, particularly in the Central African Republic, Congo and Equatorial Guinea. In the days ahead, all OHADA countries will be covered and centralized information will be made available to the public on the basis of the regional card index, marking a significant qualitative leap in the transparency and growth of business within the OHADA Member States.
The Permanent Secretary thanks the authorities of Guinea Bissau for the arrangements made to guarantee the successful deployment of the software solution. He also reiterates his gratitude to the World Bank Group for funding the development of the software and the procurement of equipment.
The Permanent Secretary,
Prof. Dorothé C. SOSSA
