ERSUMA-OHADA: Organisation of the ERSUMA Matinées at Conakry (GUINEA) from 25 to 28 November 2017
On the sidelines of the 45th Session of the Council of Ministers of OHADA in Conakry (Guinea) and, in a bid to enhance its relations with the Universities and Professional Orders of the Member States, the Higher Regional School of Magistracy (ERSUMA) of the Organization for Harmonization of Business Law in Africa (OHADA) organized a conference and two (02) trainings included in its new program called The ERSUMA Matinées. This program is one of the means of rationalizing and adapting its statutory services to the needs of law actors within the OHADA space.
The ERSUMA Matinée - Conference was held on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at the Koffi Annan University of Guinea (UKG), in the presence of the university authorities, and with the participation of a hundred students of the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences on the theme: OHADA and Corporate Performance. At the end of the conference, the Director General of ERSUMA, Professor Mayatta Ndiaye MBAYE, offered a kit of documents to the University authorities for teachers and students of the Faculty.
The two ERSUMA Matinée - Training took place on Monday 27 and Tuesday 28 November 2017 from 8:30 am to 2pm at the Noom Hotel Conakry with the Professional Orders of Guinea as follows:
- November 27, 2017: session for Lawyers and Bailiffs on Immunity from execution in the OHADA space;
- November 28, 2017: session for Notaries, Chartered Accountants and Licensed Accountants on Legal frameworks for business development in the OHADA space.
Fifthy-eight (58) participants took part at these paid trainings. The Director General of ERSUMA, who conducted the Matinées, handed over a kit of documents to the Professional Orders present and signed a partnership agreement with each of them. ERSUMA will continue forging closer relations with Professional Orders in all Member States for a generalized capacity building as well as an effective and efficient rule of law.
The ERSUMA Matinées in Conakry ended on a note of general satisfaction from the participants. This gives the opportunity to express gratitude to all stakeholders, including the OHADA National Commission, the OHADA Circle, the National Bar Council, the National Order of Notaries, the National Order of Bailiffs, the Order of Chartered Accountants and Licensed Accountants and the Koffi Annan University, the Cabinet DAISY Conseils and the Association des Juristes en Action pour le Droit (AJAD).
