New Publication on OHADA in Portugal OHADA: Tratado, Regulamentos e Actos Uniformes by Almedina, Lisbon
It is our pleasure to inform you that the publisher Almedina - Coimbra has just published a new textbook on OHADA Law titled: « OHADA: Tratado, Regulamentos e Actos Uniformes ».
The authors, Professor M. Januário da Costa Gomes and Master Rui Ataíde, both from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon have coordinated this work.
The book compiles the translations into Portuguese of the main OHADA documents: Treaty, The Regulations and the Uniform Acts. Although OHADA amongst Portuguese African speaking countries, is, at the moment, limited to Guinea-Bissau and (but the process is yet in progress) to São Tomé e Príncipe, the Coordinators have pointed out the importance of OHADA law in the harmonization process of business law in Africa and as a case study.
The work is of extreme necessity for Portuguese speaking countries, a means of opening OHADA to Lusophone countries. The edition has been coordinated and promoted by the Institute for the Judicial Cooperation of the Faculty of Law at the University of Lisbon.
UNIDA has acquired copies of this publication for dissemination, considering the relevance and efforts towards the implementation of OHADA law in African Portuguese speaking countries.
The book is available for sale at www.almedina.net
