Visit of the President of the OHADA Council of Ministers: First Stop at the CCJA

As part of his tour of OHADA institutions, H.E. Mr Ousmane DIAGNE, Minister of Justice, Keeper of the Seals of the Republic of Senegal and current President of the Council of Ministers visited the Common Court of Justice and Arbitration (CCJA) in Abidjan (Côte d'Ivoire) on 8 July 2024, accompanied on this occasion by Prof. Mayatta Ndiaye MBAYE, Permanent Secretary.
The President of the Council of Ministers held talks with members of the CCJA Bureau and Judges of the Court, before holding an extended meeting with all the staff. These discussions provided an opportunity to take stock of the Court's operations and to highlight the challenges it faces. The staff also expressed their expectations, while welcoming the major social achievements made in a record time under the leadership of the Permanent Secretary.
The President of the Council of Ministers took note of the concerns raised and assured members of the staff will be given due attention. He rounded off his visit to the Court with an inspection of the premises in order to appraise the working conditions of the institution's staff.
On the same day, the President of the Council of Ministers was received in audience by Mr Sansan KAMBILE, Keeper of the Seals, Minister of Justice and Human Rights, and then by Mr Adama COULIBALY, Minister of Finance and Budget of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire. Issues discussed by these personalities included, among others, the mobilization of Member States' contributions to OHADA's budget, the harmonization of the Institutions' headquarters agreements and the improvement of the CCJA's security system.
The President of the Council of Ministers will continue his visit to ERSUMA.
