Visit of the OHADA Council of Ministers President-in-office: Wrap-up at the Permanent Secretariat

After visiting the Common Court of Justice and Arbitration (CCJA) and the Regional Advanced School of Magistracy (ERSUMA), H.E. Mr Ousmane DIAGNE, President-in-office of the OHADA Council of Ministers, completed his tour of the Organization's operational institutions with a visit to the Permanent Secretariat in Yaoundé (Cameroon) on 11 July 2024.
Upon his arrival, the President-in-Office of the OHADA Council of Ministers was welcomed by Prof. Mayatta Ndiaye MBAYE, Permanent Secretary of OHADA. He visited the premises of the Permanent Secretariat and held a working session with members of the staff. They took this opportunity to express their gratitude for the significant improvement made by the Permanent Secretary towards safeguarding social climate since he took office and commended the renewed synergy between OHADA's operational institutions. Staff members also expressed the wish to see the projects to revise the Staff Regulations, the Headquarters Agreement and the Manual of Administrative, Financial and Accounting Procedures come to fruition.
The President-in-office of the Council of Ministers congratulated the Permanent Secretary on his attentiveness to the concerns of the staff. He also promised to work towards resolving the various problems raised and to make the revision of the Headquarters Agreements one of the priorities of his term of office.
At the end of this encounter, the President-in-office of the Council of Ministers held a summary meeting with the three Heads of Institutions, assisted by the Organization's Central Directors, to take stock of some cross-cutting issues.
In the afternoon, he was received in audience by Mr Laurent ESSO, Minister of State, Minister of Justice, Keeper of the Seals of the Republic of Cameroon, in the presence of Mr Jean de Dieu MOMO, Minister Delegate, and subsequently by Mr Louis Paul MOTAZE, Minister of Finance of Cameroon. The discussions focused in particular on the construction project for OHADA's headquarters, the popularization of the new Uniform Act Organizing Simplified Recovery Procedures and Enforcement Measures among English-speaking professionals, and the organization of a special meeting of Finance Ministers from OHADA member countries.
A cocktail dinner offered by OHADA wrapped up the tour of the President-in-office of the Council of Ministers.
