OHADA is celebrating its 31st anniversary this Thursday 17 October 2024. In addition to the major conference and documentary exhibition organized on this occasion at its headquarters in Yaoundé, we want to take this opportunity to congratulate ourselves on the decisive results achieved over these three decades, thanks to the constant support of our Member States and of our Technical and Financial Partners.

Through its actions, OHADA has made a significant contribution to:

• facilitating, securing and supporting the creation, formalization and governance of businesses;
• supporting businesses, securing their financing and debt recovery;
• providing a specific framework for freight transport by road;
• promoting alternative methods of dispute resolution and improving the efficiency of justice at national level;
• strengthening the governance of not-for-profit entities, including development projects, and combating money laundering, the financing of terrorism and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.

As we contemplate these achievements, which benefit private and public sector companies, legal and accountancy professionals, and the States themselves, we are fully aware of the expectations of our Member States, economic operators and populations alike. With the continued mobilization of all OHADA's friends, we will be able to meet the current challenges facing African economies, foremost among which are the growth of trade between African countries through the implementation of the AfCFTA and the achievement of sustainable development goals.

Let's pool our effort to write new pages in the history of our common Organization, a vector for growth and a lever for development!
