On Monday 14 April 2025, the OHADA Permanent Secretariat welcomed to its Headquarters in Yaoundé (Cameroon) students of the Master Programme in International Litigation of the Institute of International Relations of Cameroon (IRIC) and a delegation of the OHADA Club of the same Institute.
After a guided tour of the documentation centre, students were ushered to the conference room for a meeting with the Permanent Secretary. During this session, Prof. Mayatta Ndiaye MBAYE, Head of the Institution, recalled OHADA's mission and presented its scope of activities as well as its working instruments, in an approach that was both dynamic and forward-looking.
Dr Alexis NDZUENKEU, OHADA's Director of Legal Affairs, Documentation and Communication, also briefed participants on the ongoing law-making projects, as well as the recent reforms of the CCJA's enforcement law and institutional arbitration.
These presentations prompted a number of questions from the attendees and appropriate responses were provided. During the discussions, the Permanent Secretary raised the awareness of participants about issues relating to the development of arbitration and the economic sovereignty of OHADA Member States.
