Internship opportunities: City law firms seek African lawyers

Applications are now being sought from exceptional, young African lawyers to participate in a three-month training and work experience internship with leading London law firms starting in September 2011.
International Lawyers for Africa (ILFA), an initiative of City law firms, is supported by the Law Society and celebrates its fifth year in 2011. ILFA aims to develop African lawyers' legal skills in international relations, trade, finance, and dispute resolution.
Applications are invited from qualified lawyers working in the following countries: Botswana, Cameroon, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Sudan, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
Eligible applicants must demonstrate that they are:
- working or seeking to work in private practice,
- commerce or government service committed to developing their legal skills in international law,
- commercial law and/or dispute resolution.
How to apply ?
You can obtain an application form at the ILFA website. Applications should be submitted to the relevant National Committee by 17 March 2011.
