High-Level Meeting between OHADA and AMF-UMOA
On 10 April 2025, a strategic meeting was held in Abidjan between OHADA and the Financial Markets Authority of the West African Monetary Union (AMF-UMOA). The two delegations, led respectively by Prof. Mayatta Ndiaye MBAYE, Permanent Secretary of OHADA, and Mr Badanam PATOKI, Chairman of AMF-UMOA, discussed three major topics pertaining to reporting challenges: the finalisation of the Specific Accounting Standards (RCS), the application of IFRS by listed companies, and the introduction of sustainability standards. This meeting marks a significant step towards the harmonisation of accounting practices, greater transparency in regional financial markets and sustainable financing of Member States' economies.
On the sidelines of this meeting, the Permanent Secretary took part in the 1st bilateral public-private sector economic cooperation forum organised from 9 to 11 April 2025 at the Palais de la Culture in Abidjan by the Ambassador of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire to Cameroon, Chad and the Central African Republic.
