The American Society of International Law (ASIL) has accepted to host the Institut du Droit d'Expression et d'Inspiration Françaises (IDEF) for a luncheon discussion with French and American experts on the OHADA treaty and the current status of legislation being passed in application of the treaty. In particular, they will provide case law examples on the integration of the OHADA law into member states legislation. Through a series of examples, the panelists will present analogies between the OHADA law and solutions adopted under US case law. Finally, they will discuss the value of OHADA law, and in particular, whether it provides an efficient legal structure for the purposes of attracting foreign direct investments.
