Training on alternative disputes resolution methods in the OHADA space, from 19 to 22 March 2018 at Malabo (Equatorial Guinea)

The Higher Regional School of Magistracy (ERSUMA) of the Organization for the Harmonization of Business Law in Africa (OHADA) organises from 19 to 22 March 2018 at Malabo (Equatorial Guinea), a training session on the theme: “Mastering the new framework on arbitration and mediation in the OHADA space”.

This session focuses on the new mechanism of alternative dispute resolution in the OHADA space which will come into effect on 15 March 2018. It aims to provide an understanding of the amendments to the Uniform Act on arbitration law and the arbitration rules of the Common Court of Justice and Arbitration (CCJA) as revised by OHADA's Council of Ministers on 23 November 2017 in Conakry. The training session will also offer the opportunity to dwell on the Uniform Act on mediation.

Venue: Conference Hall of the Ministry for Justice, Worship and Penitentiary Institutions in Malabo (Equatorial Guinea)

Duration /dates: Four (04) days, from Monday 19 to Thursday 22 March 2018 (these dates replace those of 26 to 29 March 2018 initially scheduled in the 2018 event catalog)

Target audience: Judges, arbitrators, mediators, managers of arbitration and mediation centers, chartered accountants, notaries, lawyers, bailiffs, legal representatives, corporate advisers, managers, researchers, economic operators and anyone interested.

Trainers:

  • Maître Narcisse AKA, Secretary General of the OHADA's Arbitration Center of the Common Court of Justice and Arbitration (CCJA);
  • Mrs. Bintou BOLI DJIBO, Business lawyer, Arbitrator, Mediator, Permanent Secretary of the Arbitration, mediation and conciliation Center of Ouagadougou (CAMCO)

Registration requirements:

  • Fill and send the registration form to ERSUMA;
  • Pay the training fees fixed at 350.000 FCFA.

A discount of 10% will be granted to a group with three registrations.

Students and postgraduates willing to attend the training will be given 40% discount on the training amount subject to proving their status (scanned copy of their registration certificate in support of their application) by submitting an application to the Director General of ERSUMA at: ersuma@ohada.org:

The training costs cover the equipment and teaching materials, coffee breaks and lunch during the training period. Travel, accommodation and other restoration expenses will be borne by the participant.
